This 16” x 9” (about 1” thick) piece of salvage wood was layered with twisty, bendy, and rusty metal salvaged from the beaches of Lake Erie. It’s meant to be a seascape. Metal was painted in pale creams, varied shades of blue. The sky is a deep navy blue.
It’s always amazed me the amount of rusty metal I pick up when walking the beaches. How did it get there? Why is it there? Why SO much? I’ve always loved the colors, texture, and unique shapes—envisioned the art I could create!!
