Stone painted butterfly on charcoal painted 5 1/2” x 7” salvage wood. The 4 stones that make the butterfly are painted a rich teal. Accented with silver metal, rusted metal with orange and brown patina, and a couple of pieces of bronze metal. A touch of deep purple, and gold glitter (sealed) finish this fancy, sparkly butterfly off!!
One of a kind, mixed media art created with items salvaged from my walks along Lake Erie, east of Cleveland.
Why a butterfly? I often post my “found objects” on social media. Somebody saw a butterfly in the mix of stones, suggested I make one. Voila!!
My Grace Dog and I walk on the beach each day. She swims, runs off her excess energy and I collect beach glass, stones, metal, wire, plastic, rubber... bring it all home in my backpack to be used in my art—or recycled.
